Blink Detection Software to Reduce Digital Eye Strain

you're the hero.
we're your sightkick.

Digital technology has transformed
the way we see the world...

...and now we're using computers more than ever.

Fact 1: On average, we spend >10 hours a day in front of a screen.
Fact 2: A healthy blink rate is around 15-20 times per minute.
Fact 3: Screen use decreases blink rate by over 60% .

Why? Here's the quick science:
Screen use drops your blink rate, and your blink is super important.
With each blink, a healthy tear film is produced (from our eyelids).
Without blinks, the tears evaporate and the tear film is disrupted.

A lubricated eye is crucial for good vision and comfort.

And SightKick is here to help.

How does SightKick work?

Our software uses artificial intelligence to detect when your blink rate is down, gently nudging you to look 20 feet away from your screen, while blinking for 20 seconds. It also gives you a reminder every 20 minutes. This helps to restore your eyes' natural tear film and keep them refreshed. [learn more]

The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends digital device users follow the '20-20-20 rule.' In other words, every 20 minutes look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

What about Privacy?

At SightKick, we view privacy as a key part of the value we deliver, and we value it highly. Our software only extrapolates blink rate and does not send any video externally (in fact, the software runs entirely offline!). For those that still don't take our word for it, we've created a 'timer-only' mode. Because everyone needs a sidekick!
